Illegal immigration to U.S. will no longer be attractive when children of illegals are denied American citizenship, and citizenship obtained through “maternity tourism” is canceled

For the second time since Donald Trump’s first term, Samuel Sales Saraiva, has submitted to the Republican Committee with the Trump-Vance ticket some suggestions that would allow the elimination of advantages that have encouraged and facilitated mass immigration. In a message to the committee, he says he is “aware that illegal immigration and birthright citizenship are an international and domestic security issue of the highest priority, demanding urgent attention from the U.S. Congress.”

The message says: “The granting of birthright citizenship has become a predictable and latent threat to national security in the short and long terms, jeopardizing our very existence as a free and sovereign nation. We need to comprehend what is attracting the invaders and to update current federal legislation on the issue of migration.”

According to Samuel’s letter to Trump’s committee, the current constitutional status “has served to stimulate in thousands of citizens of other countries the desire to enter American soil and conceive children who will immediately enjoy all the benefits of American citizenship, generating an enormous budgetary cost for the taxpayer.”

These children are granted an American passport and the guarantee that, when they reach the age of majority, they can request a permanent residence permit for their parents.

For Samuel, “this amounts to rewarding those who have invaded American soil in an opportunistic and malicious manner, often having a grave criminal history in their countries of origin, which can be difficult for federal judges and officials from the Department of Justice and the Department of State to detect during hearings.”

“It should be noted that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees U.S. citizenship to almost all individuals born in the United States or in U.S. jurisdictions, based on jus soli. However, children of foreign heads of state or foreign diplomats who have arrived here to work legally do not obtain US citizenship under jus soli. Why then would it make sense to reward children of illegal immigrants?” Samuel wonders.

As he further analyzes, the legal loopholes “have fostered the so-called ‘maternity tourism’, which brings members of the elite from poor and corrupt countries, mostly from Latin America, to American soil in order to obtain the advantage of automatic citizenship for their children.”

“This is unacceptable from all legal, moral and ethical points of view,” he warns.

Samuel recalls that thousands of citizens born in the US fraudulently “can return whenever they want, without commitment or ties to values and culture, and without any respect for American symbols.”

From a humanitarian point of view, he believes that if the legislation is corrected, the US will help prevent immigrants from putting their lives at risk while facing the dangers of an illegal adventure. “Above all, we will deal a blow to the ‘coyotes’ who engage in human trafficking, victimizing even children used by their parents as cover.

“Some democratic countries, including Switzerland, make sure that children born to foreign people in their territories hold the same immigration status as their parents. If they are undocumented or illegal, they must apply for registration and passports at the consulates of their countries of origin — an intelligent legislation that could put an end to the encouragement of illegal immigration, and to the abuses that are currently practiced by undocumented immigrants in the US.

“All this has been tolerated with indifference, or with the backing of political currents sympathetic to territorial invasion, and disrespectful of current federal laws. Over the decades, and in an ever changing world, these laws have lost their effectiveness and require urgent revision and adaptation to the new realities arising from the transformations that challenge us as a state and a society”.

According to the report, last year the US granted 285,069 visas to immigrants, and in the last five years has welcomed more than 1 million legal immigrants, maintaining its tradition as the most generous and supportive nation in welcoming foreigners.

Patriotism is an imperative of integrity, unity, consensus and devotion to the country, in order to serve the national interest. It is the essence of the conscience and the responsibility required of all political currents, including those on opposing ideological poles — a permanent goal of citizenship said , Samuel.

Subject: The legal loopholes that have contributed to encouraging illegal immigration need to be solved in a structural way, with the correction of current laws to ensure that the children of undocumented people have the same nationality as their parents, with passports issued by the consulates of their countries of origin, as well as the revocation of American citizenship to all children of foreign descent who, after being born, left American soil and never resided here. The current legislation comes at a huge cost to the taxpayer in public services, especially education, health and security, while our veterans and retired face considerable difficulties.

Mr. President Donald Trump, and Senator Vance:

Aware that illegal immigration is an international and domestic security issue of the highest priority, in an exercise of citizenship, I submit the following considerations for your evaluation:

Protecting the constitutional right to citizenship by birth was the cornerstone with which notable legislators grounded, with admirable success, the end of hereditary slavery, ensuring equality to all born on American soil, regardless of race or lineage.

The status of birthright citizen of the United States is one of the eligibility requirements established in the United States Constitution to hold the office of president or vice-president. This requirement was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence. However, birthright citizenship has become a foreseeable and latent threat to national security in the short and long term, jeopardizing our very existence as a free and sovereign nation. We need to comprehend what is attracting invaders and update current federal legislation on the migration issu.

The current constitutional status stimulates, in thousands of citizens from other countries, the desire to enter U.S. soil and have children who will immediately enjoy all the benefits of U.S. Citizenship, including the acquisition of a passport, as well as the guarantee that, when they reach the age of majority, they will be able to apply for a permanent residence permit for their parents. It amounts to rewarding those who have invaded American soil in an opportunistic and malicious manner, often having a criminal history in their countries of origin, which can go undetected by federal judges and officials from the Department of Justice and the Department of State.

It should be noted that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees U.S. Citizenship to almost all individuals born in the United States or in U.S. jurisdictions, on the basis of jus soli or ‘right of the soil’. However, children of foreign heads of state or foreign diplomats who have arrived here to work legally do not acquire U.S. Citizenship under jus soli.  Why then would it make sense to grant citizenship to children of illegal immigrants? These legal loopholes have even encouraged the so-called “maternity tourism”, which brings elite members of poor and corrupt countries, mostly from Latin America, to give birth on American soil and obtain automatic citizenship for their children. This is inconceivable from all legal, moral, and ethical points of view. We cannot continue to be irresponsibly omissive or blind to the high cost of these nefarious practices, which are unacceptable in every respect.

Thousands of citizens born here fraudulently have been granted American citizenship and will be able to return whenever they wish, without commitment to our values and culture, and without respect for our symbols. We need to eliminate the structural stimulus that attracts them like bees to honey. Without this, other temporary measures, although valid and important, such as the construction of walls, the use of state-of-the-art technology, or even the armed engagement of the civilian population in partnerships between State and society, will not be enough to stop the pursuit of the realization of the so-called “American dream” at any cost, including violating the empire of laws that govern the country. From a humanitarian point of view, if we correct the legislation by removing this incentive, we will be helping to ensure that immigrants do not put their lives at risk by facing the dangers arising from a clandestine adventure. Above all, we will be dealing a serious blow to the “coyotes” who engage in human trafficking, victimizing even children used by their parents as cover.

Some democratic countries (e.g. Switzerland) determine that children born to foreign people in their territories hold the same immigration status as their parents. If they are undocumented or illegal, they must apply for registration and passports at the consulates of their countries of origin — a functional legislation capable of preventing the abuses that are currently practiced in the United States and tolerated with indifference, or with the backing of political currents sympathetic to territorial invasion and disrespect for federal laws, currently ineffective.

Nothing in the universe is static, everything is constantly changing, requiring adaptation to the new realities resulting from these transformations.

President Trump, I send you these simple considerations regarding the worrying immigration issue as a contribution to your eventual administration. The greatest responsibility lies with the Members of the U.S. Congress, responsible for enacting laws that determine how American citizenship can be acquired, with the awareness that we need to listen to the voice of the streets and be united in finding permanent and effective solutions to issues of national interest, capable of promoting supra-partisan consensus for the appropriate debate, and the adoption of the essential and unavoidable corrections.

It is worth noting that last year alone we granted 285,069 visas to immigrants, and in the last five years we have welcomed more than 1 million legal immigrants. Nevertheless, we have a responsibility to respect our territory and our laws like any sovereign nation.

Finally, it would be unfair to legal immigrants, who have abided by our laws, if we were to grant privileges or make concessions to those who have knowingly and intentionally violated our laws.

Great civilizations did not fall due to their external enemies, but rather due to the sabotaging actions of internal enemies.

Today, we are fighting a war on two fronts. On the outside, there are enemies such as China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and various terrorist groups. They are dangerous, but none of them will have a chance to defeat us if America remains strong and united. The domestic enemies infiltrated on the left know this and are committed to destroying our nation by opening up the border to all types of aggression.

‘Fight, fight, fight’ — the exhortation of the obstinate leader Donald Trump, when wounded at a recent rally in Philadelphia, will echo in our nationalist convictions in the next elections, and in history. The continuation of your statesman’s vision is ensured by the selection of the vice president on your ticket, the young and active Senator Vance, whose providential and wise nomination will be part of Your Excellency’s valuable legacy for future generations.

Respectfully,

Samuel Sales Saraiva
